Study of John Piper’s book “The Pleasures of God”
Is it really true that our God is an eternally happy God? If so, how does this shape our understanding of the gospel and how should it impact our daily lives? The purpose of the study is to deepen our love for God as we contemplate God’s delight in being God as the very foundation of the gospel of grace in Jesus. Come join us at 9:30 am in the Fellowship Room.
Youth Sunday School
Hi kids! Come and join us! We are learning the Catechisms together! Invite your friends and we’ll see you on Sunday.
Women’s Ministry
- Helping Hands will not meet in February, but will resume on Wednesday, March 7 at 10 am. Join us in the kitchen for fellowship, baking and writing cards. We would love to have you join us.
- Women’s Bible Study: Come and study the book of Psalms with us on Friday’s at 10:15 am at Daystar Retirement Center. If you have questions please contact Patty at the church office (206.937.0101).
The book of Psalms contains some of the best-loved passages of Scripture containing words of worship and praise to God, expressions of joy and exaltation, but also cries of sorrow, heartache and fear – expressions of the full range of human emotions. It is sometimes called the “first hymnal of the people of God” and was the hymnal used by our Lord during his earthly journey. In this study we will be looking at selected Psalms that teach us the way of God and the way of blessedness for God’s people. As we study together may we come to a greater, deeper understanding and delight in God’s word, which is, “a lamp to our feet and a light to our path”. (Psalm 119:110)
Community Groups
We are exploring together Tim Keller’s “Gospel In Life” in our Community Groups. Each meeting involves a 10-minute video lecture by Tim Keller followed by a discussion of pertinent Bible passages and their relevance in our culture, witness and daily lives. The purpose of the series is to deepen and broaden our understanding of the gospel, and how it changes not only our hearts but also, through us, impacts our work, neighborhoods and society at large.
Call Patty at the church office (206.937.0101) for Community Group schedules.
